Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, and the rights you have over it under South Africa's POPIA.
01Our promise in one paragraph
We only collect what we need to help you sell your business. We never sell your details. No buyer learns who you are until they've signed a confidentiality agreement and you've said yes. You can ask us to see, fix or delete your information at any time.
02Who is responsible for your information
Dynamic Legal Services (Pty) Ltd is the "responsible party" under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). Our Information Officer can be reached at support@dlegal.co.za, 087 153 6207, or at our Pretoria office: 406 Vista Drive, Faerie Glen, 0081.
03What we collect
Information you give us when you use a tool, apply or contact us:
- your name, email address and phone number
- your business's name, industry, location and size
- the numbers you enter, such as yearly sales, profit and growth
- your answers to the Sale-Ready Score questions and your result
- why and when you'd like to sell, and anything else you choose to tell us
- basic technical details your browser sends, such as IP address, device and pages visited, kept in server logs for security
04Why we use it
We use your information only to:
- show you your valuation range or Sale-Ready Score
- reply to you and talk about selling your business, if you asked us to
- prepare an engagement letter and act for you once you've signed one
- verify identities and meet our legal duties, including FICA checks
- keep the site secure and stop fraud or misuse
- improve our tools using combined, anonymous figures
05Our lawful reasons
Under POPIA we process your information because you consented by submitting a form, because we need it to take steps you asked for or to perform a contract with you, because the law requires it, or because we have a legitimate interest — such as keeping the site secure — that doesn't override your rights.
07Sending information outside South Africa
Some of our service providers store data on secure servers outside South Africa. We only use providers in countries with similar data-protection laws, or who are bound by agreements giving your information the same protection POPIA requires.
08How we keep it safe
Your information is encrypted in transit, stored on secure servers, and only our team can read it. Our website forms can save information but can't read it back. We review our safeguards regularly.
If your information is ever compromised, we'll tell you and the Information Regulator as soon as reasonably possible, as POPIA requires.
09How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and tool results for up to three years so we can pick up where we left off if you come back. Client files are kept for at least five years after our engagement ends, because FICA and tax law require it. After that, we delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete enquiry information sooner.
10Marketing messages
We'll only send you marketing — like news about buyers or market updates — if you've agreed to it or you're an existing client. Every message has an easy way to opt out, and opting out never affects any work we're doing for you.
11Your rights
Under POPIA you can, free of charge:
- ask whether we hold information about you and get a copy of it
- ask us to correct or update it
- ask us to delete it, where we don't need to keep it by law
- object to us using it, including for marketing
- withdraw your consent at any time
- complain to the Information Regulator
12How to make a request
Email support@dlegal.co.za or call 087 153 6207. We may ask you to prove who you are first, so we don't hand your information to someone else. We aim to respond within 30 days. Formal requests can also be made using the forms under the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA); ask us for a copy of our PAIA manual.
13Complaining to the Information Regulator
We'd like the chance to fix any concern first, but you can always contact the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za or POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za.
14Children and sensitive information
This site is for business owners aged 18 and over; we don't knowingly collect children's information. Please don't send us sensitive information such as health, religion or criminal records unless we specifically ask for it as part of a signed engagement.
15Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the law or our services change. The latest version always lives on this page, with the date it was last updated.
